Taking a closer look at who Trackhouse Racing are after the American brand completed their takeover of the RNF Aprilia MotoGP team.
After repeated breaches of the Participation Agreement, RNF was barred from continuing in the sport, causing Razlan Razali to step down and relinquish ownership of the team. This opened the door for Trackhouse Racing, owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull, to enter MotoGP. Trackhouse Racing first made their racing debut in NASCAR in 2021 and have won six races in the Cup series. They also had F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen compete for them in their Project91 team. Pitbull, known as ‘Mr Worldwide’, is a co-owner of the team and has been highly involved since their partnership began. As part of their takeover, Trackhouse Racing will continue with current riders Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez, using RS-GP Aprilia bikes. The team’s entry into MotoGP could mean more opportunities for American talent. Trackhouse Racing aims to bring something new and exciting to the championship and help grow the sport in North America and beyond.
